Jan Preugschat is a German citizen. He started his Sale & Purchase Broking career in Hamburg in 1985.
During the past 39 years, Jan worked in senior positions for reputable German and International Shipowning and Shipbroking companies in Hamburg, Hong Kong and Singapore.
He spent a large part of his working life in the Far East. This includes 11 years in Hong Kong where Jan built up his excellent maritime and personal network all over Asia.
Before establishing his own company at the end of 2014, Jan worked more than 8 years for a major Chilean shipping and logisitics conglomerate, handling the fleet renewal for their ship owning entities in Chile, Peru and Argentina.
The German origin, time spent in the Far East, coupled with the South American expertise offers a unique blend of knowledge and connections to our customers. We have direct and competent access into economically active but culturally challenging markets.
Having mostly dealt with large ship owning companies that own a variety of vessels, Jan has always been dealing with Bulkers, Container/Multi-Purpose vessels and all kind of Tankers. This includes Newbuildings, Second Hand and Recycling business.
His in-house responsibilities included authority to negotiate sales and purchases of ships, he was leading the full internal coordination of pre-delivery processes and the attendance at world-wide closing meetings to release purchase monies/sign and exchange delivery documents in capacity as Attorney-in-Fact.
It should also be mentioned that Jan has a proven track record in establishing new and rebuilding established shipbroking companies, as successfully done in Hamburg, Hong Kong and Singapore.
